Occupational Therapy

Independence promotes self-esteem. Occupational Therapy staff encourage students to be more independent by developing movement control and through the provision of specialist equipment such as hoists, beds and wheelchairs.

Smart chair.

The Occupational Therapist develops programmes for the young people to promote independence in daily living skills e.g. dressing and continence management. These programmes are delivered over the 24 hour day by school staff, social care staff and therapy assistants. The Occupational Therapist is available to provide advice and support in school, in residence and to families as necessary.
