Captain Tom’s legacy lives on at Hollybank

It is more than a year ago since Captain Tom Moore set out walking laps around his garden to thank our NHS heroes. One hundred laps later, he’d raised an incredible £38.9 million for the NHS Covid-19 appeal. Across Hollybank, we were keen to remember his amazing achievement by taking part in the Captain Tom 100 challenge.

The initiative asked people to celebrate Captain Tom’s legacy by finding a way of doing 100 things that they loved. And in true Hollybank style, we delivered! From rainbow spotting to a road trip; from throwing 100 darts to picking 100 daisies; as you can see from the photos a great time was had by all.

His simple message of hope – tomorrow will be a good day – inspired millions around the world and brought comfort to so many during the pandemic. This hope still remains in abundance across Hollybank, along with the joy of taking part in this great initiative.
