School (5-18 yrs)

Hollybank is a very special ‘special’ school where our children and young people get the very best opportunities to thrive. It’s a vibrant, happy place - everyone is valued, and we love celebrating our achievements, however small. Challenges are faced together and always with a smile.

No school is an island and Hollybank is no exception. We work closely with families and health professionals to develop and deliver individual learning plans that stretch our children and help them to shine. We have high standards and have been rated as Outstanding by Ofsted for the past ten years.

Our holistic approach to education

We are extremely lucky here at Hollybank. We have in-house therapy and nursing teams which enables us to provide extra support to children and families that goes above and beyond a typical school education. We’ve high teacher to pupil ratios and are passionate about adapting our curriculum in a meaningful way to help children reach their potential. We also have access to all the facilities on Hollybank’s main site in Mirfield, including a hydrotherapy and rebound centre.

Our referral process

All our children have either a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education, Health and Care Plan. You can refer your child to us directly, or speak to your social worker, community nurse or someone at your local authority. At that point, we’ll carry out a multi-disciplinary assessment which helps us decide if we’re the best option for you and your child.
