Our services Swimming lessons Here at Hollybank, we offer swimming lessons for both our residents and the general public. Our swimming lessons take place on Monday and Tuesday evenings between 4-7pm in the Bradbury centre. The Bradbury Lesson Programme follows the nationally recognised Swim England Learn To Swim Programme. Due to the size of our pool we deliver stage 1 – 4. Upon completion of stage 4 or at the advice of our swimming instructors we will signpost your child to alternative lesson providers who deliver the same framework up to and including Stage 10 so that your child will be able to continue their aquatic journey. The easiest way for a child to acquire the skills needed to be a confident swimmer is through fun and games.Games are an ideal way for children to develop their jigsaw of skills and may even lead to them learning how to combine one skill with another, without even realising. The Swim England Learn to Swim Programme takes this approach to learning to swim, giving swimmers the core skills needed to become confident in the water! Further details of the scheme can be seen here, http://www.swimming.org/learntoswim/asa-learn-to-swim-pathway/ All our lessons last for 30 minutes and are taught with the instructor in the water with your child. Therefore it should be expected that there will be an element of manual support given to your child from their instructor. All our instructors are ASA Level 2 Teaching Aquatics qualified and are DBS checked. Please note, our pool has an overall depth of 1.2 metres and so some people may be unable to stand but all swimmers have float support. Our pool is warm, which is great for non-swimmers. We offer private 1-1 or 2-1 lessons and can be flexible with this. Our lessons cost £6.75 per lesson and run term time in line with Kirklees school holidays. Lesson payments are to be paid in advance for the following term via cash or cheque. Awards celebrating the completion of a class ie, Stage 1, 2, 3, 4 are included in your lesson fee.
