Ben Smith, IT Manager

Ben joined Hollybank Trust on a work placement and, eight years later, is now Hollybank’s IT Manager. It's a challenging and rewarding role.

Ben enjoys his role: “Every day is different, and I am constantly learning,” he said. “I love the fact that we’re using IT in ways that make a real difference to people’s lives – helping them stay connected with family and be more independent.”

Sophie Garside, People Development Co-ordinator

Sophie joined Hollybank Trust as a support worker at our Holmfirth site twelve years ago. She started mentoring new staff members and then started working in our People & Culture department.

Sophie believes you need a sense of fun to work at Hollybank: “A typical day in my role would include, co-ordinating training, NVQ Development, spreadsheets, training reminders and other HR tasks. My job can be crazy!”

Chris Teal, Residential Manager

Chris has worked at Hollybank Trust for seven years. He joined as a support worker and is now the registered manager of two of Hollybank's ten residential homes.

Chris enjoys his role: “The thing I like most about my job is how rewarding it feels when you see the positive reactions and responses from the adults. Its really nice to feel like you’re making a difference to someone’s day.”
